Whitaker Community Farm Survey - January 31, 2013

We invite you to share your thoughts on the Whitaker Community Farm proposal.

Please take a moment to fill out the survey and tell us your ideas!

(You will need to create a "portlandonline" account to access the link. This will only take a few seconds before directing you to the survey page:  https://www.portlandoregon.gov/parks/61359)

You can also e-mail Nick directly at: nick@portlandoregon.gov or call Emily York at: 503-823-3594

Since 2007, the former Whitaker School site (at the corner of NE 42nd Ave and NE Killingsworth) has sat vacant. The community has long expressed interest in the future of this Portland Public Schools (PPS) property.

PPS indicated that long-term development of this site would not occur within the next five years, so we are working with the community and partner organizations to explore a temporary farm project as a way to activate the space, grow healthy food, and provide opportunities for job training.

For more information on the project see our Frequently Asked Questions.
