Mt. Tabor garden plots now available - January 11, 2013

Portland Parks & Recreation is now taking applications for the new community garden plots in Mt. Tabor Park!

PP&R is expecting the garden to have 84 plots, four of which will be Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible with raised beds. You can apply for a variety of plots, ranging from a ten square-foot starter plot, to a standard plot at about 200 square feet.

Plot fees, which range from $10 - $85, include water and access to the tool shed. Gardeners are in charge of seeds, weeding, and other garden needs.

There are 47 community gardens located throughout the city - with more than 2,000 plots which can be rented out to Portlanders.

Some gardens have years-long waiting lists, so don’t wait!  Be part of your community and enjoy the benefits of tasting veggies that you have grown. To apply for a plot, please apply online on the PP&R website or call the community gardens office at (503) 823-1612.
