POL Government Elected Officials Commissioner Nick Fish
Community Garden grand opening in Northeast Portland - October 17, 2012

By David Nguyen

Join Nick, Portland Parks & Recreation staff, Verde and the Let Us Build Cully Park! Coalition at the grand opening of the NE 72nd Ave Community Garden this Thursday, 2 pm – 6:30 pm.

The Garden is a part of our 1000 Gardens Initiative to help meet the demand for places to grow healthy food within the City of Portland. Our goal is to have 1,000 new garden plots by the end of 2012.

This Community Garden will also be the first amenity to be constructed in the future Cully Park.  The effort is spearheaded by Verde and the Let Us Build Cully Park! Coalition, which includes 17 community service organizations dedicated to bringing economic, environmental, and social benefit to the Cully neighborhood.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
