Nick was honored to join his friends Jill Kuehler and Al Solheim today for a visit to Zenger Farm.
Zenger Farm is a non-profit farm and wetland in outer Southeast Portland. A strong partner in the City's effort to increase access to healthy foods for those most vulnerable in our community, Zenger Farm is host to a multitude of programs that support its surrounding neighborhood and develop community. Groups visit the farm for educational field trips, summer camps and different workshops.
One of their many offerings, the Healthy Eating on a Budget (HEOB) workshops have gained wide spread community support. Held on the farm and at partner locations through out East Portland, the HEOB workshops engage participants in exploring ways to eat well on a limited budget. The workshops strive to focus on the interests of participants and can focus on cooking skills, recipe sharing, budgeting, gardening, shopping strategies and more.
