Volunteers help remove invasive English ivy - October 1, 2012

Warner Pacific College students and the Friends of Mt. Tabor recently spent a day at Mt. Tabor Park removing English ivy and other invasive species.

Portland Parks & Recreation depends on its outstanding volunteers, who spend thousands of hours clearing and maintaining trails and green spaces in our Portland parks.  We're grateful for the efforts from the community to help maintain our national Gold Medal-winning parks system.

Our No Ivy League is a team of volunteers who work hard every year to destroy and remove invasive English ivy from Forest Park and other natural areas.  Each year, they coordinate No Ivy Day - a city-wide ivy removal effort.  No Ivy Day will be on Saturday, October 13, at locations throughout Portland.  There is still time to sign up and volunteer!
