Stephens Creek Crossing raises its walls - September 25, 2012

By David Nguyen

The first wall of the $52.8 million Stephens Creek Crossing community was raised yesterday.

Stephens Creek Crossing will bring 122 affordable homes to the Hillsdale neighborhood.  The community is managed by Home Forward, and will be the third HOPE VI development in Portland. HOPE VI funds are granted by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the revitalization of publicly-subsidized communities.

The City of Portland was proud to invest $5 million in Stephens Creek Crossing, to bring more affordable home opportunities to this Southwest Portland neighborhood.

Scheduled to open in 2014, the community will also include seven Habitat for Humanity homes for first-time homebuyers.
