Schoolhouse Supplies Drive - August 21, 2012

By David Nguyen

School is starting soon (sorry kids), and Schoolhouse Supplies is seeking donations of supplies and cash to help give kids a good start for the new school year.

Schoolhouse Supplies, an award-winning nonprofit, has distributed more than $16.7 million in school supplies to needy children and classrooms since 2000.  The organization supports public education and gives kids greater access to learning by providing free school supplies.

The annual Schoolhouse Supplies drive, sponsored by KGW is looking for everything from pencils to crayons to notepads.  These supplies are crucial for the kids to be successful in their path toward higher education.

Please help by dropping off supplies at one of the many drop-sites around Portland.

You can also donate online - a $25 donation provides a child with the tools needed to learn for an entire school year.
