New park coming to Cully neighborhood - June 26, 2012

By David Nguyen

Portland Parks & Recreation has entered the design phase of the next great Portland park!  The Werbin Property, a 2.4-acre site in the Cully neighborhood, will be transformed into a new park - and we need your help finding the best design.

Parks has three design options for the community to consider. Review design Option A, Option B, and Option C, and share your opinion with the online comment form by Monday, July 9, at 5 pm.

The Cully neighborhood has been recognized as a parks-deficient neighborhood with very few parks to serve a large area with a diverse, lower-income population.  The neighborhood is home to more than 13,000 residents and is currently only served by Sacajawea Park

Working with the Cully Association of Neighbors, the Let us Build Cully Park Coalition, and Verde, Portland Parks is proud to bring a new park to the neighborhood.
