We are delighted to report that the Portland Development Commission (PDC) supports the restoration of $1.1 million in funding for Leach Botanical Garden. 

Special thanks to East Portland advocates, Leach Executive Director David Porter, the Garden Board of Directors, and Portland Parks & Recreation Director Mike Abbaté for their efforts in making this possible.

Leach Botanical is the only signature developed park east of Interstate 205. The Leach Board intends to use the public funding to begin to implement the master plan, starting with a new entrance and visitor’s center. The City’s investment is expected to leverage substantial private support.

Securing funding for Leach Botanical Garden reflects Nick’s continuing commitment to bring equity to East Portland. It is a part of a larger vision we call E205.
