Story by Abby Warren
Our creative partners at Zenger Farm are teaming up with the good folks at Burgerville to get seeds into the hands of kids!
Instead of finding a plastic toy in their children's meals, kids will be surprised with a seed packet (cucumers, snap peas, carrots or nasturtiums), an illustrated wooden plant stake and a Zenger Farm activity bag. They will not find, however, a plastic pot to start their seed with- they will be encouraged to find an old yogurt container, egg carton, or milk carton instead.
"It all starts with a seed," says Jill Kuehler, Zenger Farm executive director. "When kids plant, tend and harvest vegetables, they are more inclined to eat them."
