Annual Homebuyer Fair offers education, resources for first-time buyers - November 3, 2011

Story by David Nguyen

More than 50 housing professionals took part in this year's Homeownership Fair, an annual event presented by the African Americal Alliance for Homeownership (AAAH) and held at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in North Portland.

The Fair offers free workshops for first-time homebuying, foreclosure prevention, the ins and outs of a credit score, and more. There are plenty of activities to keep kids happy, and door prizes for a few lucky winners! The Portland Housing Bureau is a proud sponsor of the Fair, a great place to share information about the many programs we offer to support homeownership in Portland.

AAAH is a local non-profit that brings together housing and business professionals to offer access to homebuyer education and resources to underserved communities. For more than 10 years, the team at AAAH has helped increase homeownership and economic stability for folks in our community by offering "Homebuyer Coaching," a matching savings program, one-on-one homebuyer counseling, and much more.
