Saturday, Nick visited the Cully neighborhood to celebrate the grand opening of the Sumner Community Garden, which offers over 30 plots to neighborhood gardeners and is our 38th official community garden. More than 100 people are on the waiting list for nearby garden plots, so this is an important and exciting addition to the neighborhood.

We're working to add 1,000 new garden plots by the end of 2012 - we call it the "1000 gardens" initiative,and we're so excited to help 1000 new gardeners grow their own fresh, healthy produce in their neighborhood community garden! Gardens at Clarendon, Frazer, and Kenton are under construction.
