PSU breaks ground on College Station - April 1, 2011

Nick was honored to join Portland State University President Wim Wiewel and others for the groundbreaking ceremony for an exciting new project on the PSU campus.

When it's finished, the new building - College Station - will provide 978 students with apartments.

President Wiewel has made increased student housing as a top priority for the next few years. He and his team hope to offer housing for one quarter of PSU students in five years.

This 16-story high rise will move them closer to that goal while complementing the uniquely beautiful urban landscape of the PSU campus.

Not only will the LEED Gold building provide needed housing for students, it will provide 100 construction jobs and 20 ongoing building management positions.

As PSU continues to grow and thrive, downtown Portland is reaping the benefits. PSU's motto is "Let knowledge serve the city." This is another great example of that mission in action.

Congratulations to the team at PSU as they celebrate this exciting milestone!
