Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebrations - January 19, 2011

Commissioner Fish attended his regular Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebrations Monday.

First, he spent time at the Skanner Newspaper's 25th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast.

The Breakfast featured a keynote address from Ellyn Agelotti of the Poynter Institute, scholarship presentations, presentation of the Drum Major for Justice Award, and music from special guest Lady Kitty Griffin.

Later on Monday, he attended the 26th Annual Keep Alive The Dream tribute at the Highland Christian Center in NE Portland.

Nick was honored to speak at the tribute, which also featured remarks from Senator Ron Wyden, Mayor Adams, and State Representative Lew Frederick. Masters of Ceremony Donny Adair and Sharon Mitchell led the program.
