19th Annual Steve Lowenstein Trust Award - December 8, 2010

As Commissioner in charge of Parks, Nick is proud to present the Steve Lowenstein Trust Award each year. This morning in Council he was honored to present Bobby Fouther with the 19th Annual Trust Award. The award - first presented in 1992 - is presented each year to someone who has made a significant personal contribution to Portland's underserved communities.

Bobby Fouther has spent 40 years bringing the art of dance, theater, and self-expression to children. In 2009, he received a Spirit of Portland award. He currently works with the Oregon Ballet Theater's outreach program, and has also worked with the Children's Museum, the World Affairs Council of Oregon, and White Bird Dance.

A number of past awardees were in Council this morning, including Marc Jolin, the 2008 winner, and Kayse Jamma, who was honored last year.

Congratulations to Bobby and special thanks to Parks star Michelle Harper and the selection committee for recognizing another outstanding Portlander.
