Jobs, Police, Vegetables - October 29, 2010

Nick is the proud parent of two kids in Portland Public Schools. Two of the highlights of his year are taking part in the We The People competition and participating in Principal for a Day, Portland School Foundation's annual event pairing local leaders with public schools in five area districts.

Recently, Nick spent the day at King Elementary in Northeast Portland. Nancy Rommelman from the Oregonian joined them for the morning.

Our favorite part of Nancy's story?

When a group of 5th-graders as was asked to guess which bureaus Nick's in charge of, their responses included "jobs," "police," and "vegetables."

Many thanks to the Portland Schools Foundation for inviting Nick to take part in this year's Principal for a Day event and to King Principal Kim Patterson for hosting Nick.
