Welcome to the 2010-11 Multnomah Youth Commissioners! - September 30, 2010

Congratulations to the new class of Multnomah Youth Commissioners!

The MYC is the official youth policy body for both Multnomah County and the City of Portland, and does important advocacy work in a number of areas. Youth Commissioners participate in the City and County budget processes, work to improve school-based health centers, engage youth in local elections through YouthVOTE!, and more.

In addition, each Council office has the privilege of working one-on-one with a Youth Commissioner each year. Last year we were honored to work with Commissioner Sophia Kecskes, a student at Cleveland High School. She provided valuable feedback about the Parks and Housing budget requests, accompanied the Commissioner to several events, and was fantastic to work with! Sophia is now a 2nd-year Youth Commissioner - we're looking forward to seeing more of her this year!
