Fields Neighborhood Park project moves forward - August 19, 2010

We're proud to announce the Parks Bureau is moving forward on the space known as "The Fields" situated within the Hoyt Street Yards portion of the Pearl District Neighborhood Association (PDNA). We would like to thank Tiffany Schweitzer and Hoyt Street Properties for their generous donation of the space for this project.

Nick Bjork of the Daily Journal of Commerce wrote yesterday that the Portland City Council on Wednesday accepted Hoyt Street Properties’ donation of a 3.2-acre property that will be used for proposed Fields Neighborhood Park.

Hoyt previously donated two other properties to the city, Jamison Square and a portion for Tanner Springs Park.

While waiting to solidify next steps, the Portland Development Commission (PDC) has drafted a plan to connect the two areas with a pedestrian bridge over Naito Parkway.
