Sunday Parkways visits Southeast this weekend - August 13, 2010

This Sunday, the fourth of five Sunday Parkways events will take riders on a 6-mile route through Southeast Portland. The route has two loops, connecting Laurelhurst, Coloner Summers, and Sunnyside Parks, plus the Hawthorne Street Fair. Parks along the route will host music, food, and other fun activities.

But you needn't be a bike rider to take advantage of all the fun things going on as part of Sunday Parkways events! This Sunday, for example, at least a handful of food vendors will be stationed at each park along the route, close to 100 organizations will have games, informational booths, and giveaways, and there are a variety of music groups planned for each site.

If you are planning to ride, there will be a variety of groups stationed along the route to answer questions about your bike, provide water, and even teach you how to juggle!

In addition, this Sunday Parkways features a very special event - Mia Birk's Joyride Book Launch, which features live music, book signing, and a weenie roast on SE Lincoln between 35th and 37th. Stop by to say hello to Mia and Nick and pick up a copy of her great new book!
