Nick is looking forward to the grand reopening of Gilbert Heights Park tomorrow evening. Portland Parks & Recreation has worked hard over the past year to make some major improvements to the park, including the addition of benches, picnic tables, lighted pathways, and a new community garden, which will bring us one step closer to our goal of adding 1,000 new community garden plots by 2012.

To commemorate the reopening, Parks and the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood Association have put together a fun-filled evening. Join Nick for the ribbon cutting at 6:00, thenenjoy live music from The Sounds of Norman. There will also be plenty of food and drink.

At dusk, enjoy a screening of "Shorts: Adventures of the Wishing Rock" at dusk - with all you can eat popcorn! This is park of Parks' Summer Free for All lineup of fun, free, family-friendly activities.
