Comcast/Hands on Greater Portland Cares Day - April 22, 2010

This Saturday Comcast/Hands on Great Portland Cares Day will dispatch almost 2,000 volunteers to more than 20 sites across Portland. Nationwide, as part of Comcast Cares Day, more than 60,000 volunteers will perform more than 330,000 hours of community service at more than 550 sites.

Nick is proud to be part of this event, speaking Saturday at Benson High School. Joining him are Comcast Executive Vice President David Cohen, State Representative Jules Bailey, County Commissioners Deborah Kafoury and Diane McKeel, and City Commissioner Dan Saltzman.

Twenty-four projects across Portland are part of this national day of service, and there's truly something for everyone. You can make a blanket as part of the "Bink-a-Thon," help with a Salvation Army Women's Shelter Clean-Up, work on Hoyt Arboretum Trail Maintenance or Community Garden upkeep, or help make some neighborhood dogs a little happier with Fences for Fido. Click here for a full list of the day's projects.
