We recently felt the loss of two giants in Portland's affordable housing community.

Denny West, the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Portland for ten years beginning in 1991, died in mid-December. Nick worked with Denny when he served on the HAP Board of Commissioners. A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, January 24, at Portland State University.

Fred Rosenbaum, who served as a member of HAP's Board between 1965 and 1980 and Chair of HAP for all but two of those years, died on January 12. Fred was a friend and mentor, and the founder of Camp Rosenbaum. A public memorial will be held on Tuesday, January 19, at the Portland Air Base.
