On Wednesday afternoon, Council appointed Amie Pico and Brian Lessler to the Housing Authority of Portland's Board of Commissioners, reappointed James Smith and Lee Moore, and honored outgoing Board Chair Jeff Bachrach with a surprise proclamation recognizing his contributions to affordable housing in Portland.

Jeff Bachrach served as Chair of HAP's Board for three years, from 2007 through 2009. During that time HAP undertook challenging and vitally important projects, including the rehabilitation of the Grove Hotel and the launch of the Resource Access Center, now under construction. During Jeff's tenure as Chair, more than 15,000 households in Portland were served by HAP.

Jeff has also served our community as a Commissioner of the Portland Baseball Commission and a board member of the REACH Community Development Corporation, the Commercial Real Estate Economic Coalition, and the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland.

We are grateful for Jeff's service to Portland.
