Local author Laura Foster combines our collective affection for Beverly Cleary and her expertise on exploring Portland on foot with a creative new tour: Beverly Cleary-themed walks.

Foster's tour leads walkers on a two-mile loop around NE Portland. It includes stops at Grant Park - a short walk from the Commissioner's home - the houses Cleary lived in as a child, and the two schools she attended.

If you can't make the tour at 5:00 pm today, you'll have other opportunities: Foster will be leading tours (starting at the Hollywood Library) on October 5 and October 21.
