This week Governor Kulongoski formally designated Gateway Green as an official Oregon Solutions project. Projects with this special recognition are considered high priority for the State because of their focus on sustainability and creative collaboration.

The Governor has selected Jay Graves, Bike Gallery owner and Oregon State Parks commissioner, and Metro Councilor Rex Burkholder to co-convene our team of regional leaders. I'm looking forward to shifting into the next phase of planning for this one-of-a-kind park in East Portland.

Two of the citizens behind this great vision are Ted Gilbert and Linda Robinson who joined us in council this week to accept a grant through the East Portland Action Plan. The grant will go to Friends of Gateway Green who will work in close collaboration with members of the Oregon Solutions team to bring the vision into reality.
