Shelli Romero

Shelli Romero was raised in urban, rural and suburban Oregon. Currently, she works as the Public Policy and Community Affairs Manager with the Oregon Department of Transportation. Shelli is an advocate for civil and human rights and believes in equity in all its forms.  She serves on the Housing Authority of Portland and the Portland Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.  Shelli was also formerly appointed by Governor Kulongoski to serve on the Oregon Government Ethics Commission. Shelli received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon and has a Masters degree in Public Administration from the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government at Portland State University.  She is also a graduate of the Leadership Development Program from the Center for Creative Leadership; the Executive Leadership Institute from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government; the National Hispanic Leadership Institute; and the American Leadership Forum.  She has lived in the Foster/Powell neighborhood of Southeast Portland for fifteen years.  Shelli was nominated to the Charter Commission by Mayor Adams.
