This three-part workshop series will explore what sustainability means to urban andregional planning and how city plans can lay the groundwork for success. Panelists with direct experience planning for sustainability will discuss the barriers andopportunities planners face when working toward sustainability, how sustainabilitycan be defined and measured for planning projects, and what useful sustainability tools are available. Panelists will share their insights from three regional case studiesillustrating a broad spectrum of sustainable planning issues – including land use,sustainability metrics, affordable housing, and eco-districts.
