Youth Planning Program (YPP)

The Youth Planning Program (YPP) at the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability hires youth ages 14-21 to work alongside Planners and Sustainability Professionals to assist in shaping our city in long-range planning. Youth are valuable members of Portland, and engaging youth in planning and civic life in an empowered way is our goal. Youth 18 and under make up one quarter of Portland, while youth 25 and under make up one third, and as Former Mayor Potter has said youth make up "100 percent of the future."
