Contact the 7 Corners project by email7 Corners Urban Design StrategyProject DescriptionThe 7 Corners intersection on SE Division Street, where Ladd Avenue, 20th Avenue and 21st Avenue all converge, can be a confusing and challenging place to navigate for everyone—vehicles, trucks, buses, bicycles and pedestrians. The Bureau of Planning and Sustainability and Bureau of Transportation worked with local business owners and neighbors to explore ideas that will make the intersection safer for pedestrians and bicycles, transform the intersection into a neighborhood center, and minimize vehicle congestion.
The urban design strategy identified three options for transforming the 7 Corners intersection. However, the community discussion did not result in a clear preference and raised a number of questions and issues that are best addressed in the context of the larger Division Streetscape and Reconstruction Project. Therefore, the final report captures the ideas, issues, opportunities and challenges that were identified through this process and is intended to be a launching point for the streetscape design project.
