Our team of experts will answer your questions, provide educational materials, and conduct employee training.

 

These FREE services and materials are available through the program:


Set-up assistance

Site assessment and recommendations on the best way to set up your collection system. The City will work with your waste hauler to put it all in place with the necessary collection containers and equipment.


Employee training

Training materials and advice for employees to instruct them on proper procedures for separating food wastes and keeping contamination out.


Free collection containers

The City provides free collection containers in four sizes. Designed in a distinctive green color and labeled with “Portland Composts!”, they are easily distinguished from other trash or recycling containers. The following are available through your hauler:

  • 23 gallon slim container (15 inch depth fits ideally in many prep areas)

  • 25 gallon round bins (can be used with universal dollies for easy in-kitchen handling)

  • 32 gallon lidded roll carts

  • 65 gallon lidded roll carts

Educational materials 

Posters and other educational materials are available for workspaces throughout your operation.

 

Customer recognition assistance

A marketing toolkit including posters, table toppers, window decals and more helps you let your customers know that your business is participating in Portland Composts!
