2008 Stormwater Management Manual

The City of Portland revised its Stormwater Management Manual in 2008, reorganizing chapters and most of the appendices to make it easier to read and use.

Changes include:

• Clarification of the stormwater hierarchy
• New typical design details
• All new forms and submittal guides
• A new Presumptive Approach Calculator (PAC)

The new PAC allows more flexibility in sizing vegetated facilities using infiltration testing results. The PAC and the PAC User's manual are only available online. 

• Choose the Manual Navigator link at the top of the column on the left to get started.
• Go to the Introduction for a more complete description of the 2008 changes.
• Or go to the Quick Start Guide to begin using the 2008 Manual.
• Go to Frequently Asked Questions for a list of common questions about the 2008 manual. 

Printed 2008 Manuals are available for $25 each. You can purchase a paper manual or pick up the free compact disc version at the Development Services Center, 1900 SW 4th Avenue in Portland. To get a free CD by mail, please call 503-823-7103.
