Parade Event Marking

In 2007, Portland City Council passed an ordinance to increase equal access to the Portland Rose Festival KeyBank Grand Floral Parade.

• The use of duct tape, chalk, paint or unattended personal property, such as lawn chairs, to mark or reserve a spot along the parade route is prohibited.
• Beginning on Friday morning, June 5th, parade attendees may reserve their spots in person along the parade route. Camping overnight along the parade route is permitted on Friday night only.

The Bureau of Development Services will staff a Parade Marking Removal Street Team to remove marking in the right of way and provide outreach to parade spectators. The Team will monitor the route traveled by the KeyBank Grand Floral Parade beginning June 2nd.
