Biofuels Portland
Portland continues to implement innovative, result-oriented strategies that meet goals for job growth, greenhouse gas emission reduction and local environmental health. In July of 2006, Portland became the first city in the US to adopt a local "Renewable Fuel Standard" for all motor vehicle fuels sold inside the city limits. The Standard requires that all diesel fuel sold in the city contain a minimum of 5% biodiesel, and all gasoline contain a minimum of 10% ethanol. In 2010, the minimum biodiesel requirement will increase to 10%. | |
