The Development Services Center is designed to serve our customers by providing:

| Over-the-counter permits |
|
Available for certain simple permits can be applied for, checked, and issued while you wait including: plumbing, electrical, mechanical, sign, sewer connection and transportation permits.

| Building Permit Application and Review |
|
Plan review for commercial and residential construction projects including zoning and site development.
Permits with more complex scopes that cannot be issued over-the-counter will be checked for completeness and routed to various reviewers for plan check.

| DSC Staff Consultation |
|
The DSC staff includes plan reviewers, land use planners, structural engineers and technicians available to answer your questions and review your plans.

| Interagency Partner Consultation |
|
Staff from the Portland Bureau of Environmental Services, Fire and Transportation are available on site to answer your questions and review your plans.

| Records and Research |
|
Locate permit and case history on property located in the City of Portland and some areas of Multnomah County.
|
| DSC Meetings & Programs |
|
There are projects that may need additional time or assistance. Large and complex projects may need this attention., Bureau staff have developed meetings and programs to meet these needs. The meetings are by appointment only, scheduled through the DSC, and may have charges associated with them.

| Life Safety Preliminary Appointments |
|
If you are building a new single family home or building several detached single family homes in the same subdivision you may be able to submit your plans and application through a Fast Track Intake Appointment.

The purpose of a Land Division Appointment is to outline the zoning & land use requirements and regulations that affect a property when land use review is required.

| Pre-Application Conferences |
|
The purpose of a Pre-Application Conference is to inform applicants of land use requirements. Pre-Application conferences are required for all Type III land use reviews before the application is submitted. Optional Pre-Application Conferences are available to discuss projects that have a lower review or for projects that do nor require a review.
To schedule a Pre-Application Conference, bring a filled out application, plans and the fee to the DSC.
