Sidewalk vending carts are permitted by the Bureau of Transportation and are only permitted within certain commercial districts. The permit is issued for the calendar year and is for a set location.

Items and services such as ready-to-eat food, snacks, flower arrangements, jewelry, and shoe-shining can be sold from sidewalk vending carts.

There are regulations concerning cart size and aesthetics. The application process requires a letter of consent from abutting property, proof of insurance and plans showing the construction of the cart.
