On Saturday, May 10th, BDS celebrated the conclusion of Building Safety Week by participating in an Oregon Building Officials' Association outreach day at Home Depot stores throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.  We had six inspectors at the three Portland area stores who made contact with over 700 customers to help give advice about projects and educate customers about the value and safety of getting permits and inspections for construction projects.

 

Special thanks to the management and employees at the Home Depot stores located at Glen Widing/Airport Way, Mall 205 and Jantzen Beach for welcoming us into their stores for this outreach event.  Also thanks to BDS Inspectors Steve Ault, Scott Burris, McKenzie James, Wes Cooke, Dave Barnhart and Russ Young for spending their Saturday doing community outreach on behalf of the bureau.
