Last summer Viktor Palchey joined the BDS staff as a Community Service Aide in Permitting Services. When the opportunity came to apply for a Tech 1 Trainee position, he did, and was hired.

Viktor has been in the Trainee program for 5 months and takes his role as a direct contact with the public very seriously. Originally from the Ukraine, Viktor says that understanding English can be challenging, but he has has also interpreted permit information in Russian many times and enjoys being able to help customers and staff solve problems.

Viktor's favorite aspect of working at BDS is the staff, and his future plans include achieving an Engineering degree...and continuing to work for the City of Portland.
