BDS Silent Auction Benefits Oregon Food Bank - Printable Version - October 25, 2007 - 0 Comments

BDS Silent Auction 1BDS Silent Auction 2Yesterday, BDS employees held their 8th annual Silent Auction and raised over $1,500 with all proceeds going to benefit the Oregon Food Bank.

What started as a fun idea among staff has grown into a bureau-wide event held each Fall. Employees donate items and offer up services for things like housecleaning, baking and pet boarding, which are bid on by other employees with all proceeds going to OFB to fight hunger.

It's a great opportunity for staff to have fun while giving back to the community. You never know which item is going to generate a bidding war - one year it was a pink flamingo shower caddy and this year it was a Cuisinart bread maker!
