Living Smart goes to New Orleans - Printable Version - September 7, 2007 - 0 Comments

Living SmartThe BDS and Bureau of Planning have been invited to exhibit "Living Smart: Big Ideas for Small Lots" at the National League of Cities, Congress of Cities, in New Orleans, Louisiana this November. The conference is a chance for more than 4000 local elected officials to share ideas about how to make their communities better for their citizens.

Metropolitan areas across the nation are struggling with the same development challenges as Portland: encouraging design that fits in neighborhoods, diminishing land for development, preserving greenspace, and ways to make homes attractive, efficient and affordable for families.

Planners Shawn Wood and Mark Walhood will be educating conference attendees about Living Smart's architect designed plans and how the City of Portland makes them available to the public.
