Types of Noise Covered by the Code

The noise code addresses many aspects of noise, including:

• amplified sound
• music
• motor vehicles
• construction
• events and parades
• animal noises from legal animal facilities

Types of Noise Not Covered by the Code

The Noise Office does not have the authority to address the following types of noise:

• residential to residential animal noises (contact Multnomah County Animal Control)
• aircraft in flight issues (contact: Port of Portland)
• railroad issues (contact: Federal Railway Administration)
• interstate truck noise (contact: ODOT)
• civil disturbances (contact the Portland Police Bureau)
