8011-01 INFORMANTS RECORDS
Series is used to document information about confidential informants used by
the Police Bureau. Series is created to track specific information about
informants. Series includes both true name records and moniker records. Records
may include name, moniker, when paid, how much paid, what they were paid for,
reliability, background information, copies of reports, liability waivers,
photographs, fingerprints, payment records, analysis, letters of understanding,
journals, indexes, fund records and other related records. Series includes
records from all divisions and precincts.
Note: Some records contained in these files may be exempt from disclosure
under ORS 192.501 through 192.502. Consult your agency's legal counsel for
assistance before releasing information.

8011-02 INFORMANTS DATABASE
Series is used to track information about all informants used by the Police
Bureau. Series is created to centralize informant information in one place and
to track information and other related data.

8011-03 EVIDENCE / INFORMANT FUND RECORDS
Series is created to track money spent collecting evidence and informant
information. Series is the accounting paper work necessary to show how money has
been spent. Record includes receipts, ledger books and accounting forms. Records
include who drew the money, how it was spent, account balances and other related
information.

8011-04 CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE RECORDS
Series is created to gather from various sources about suspected criminal
activity. Records include investigative reports, correspondence, background data
photos, and other related records. Records may contain information on suspects,
activities, locations, source of intelligence information, etc.

8011-05 CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE BULLETINS
Series is created to disseminate information that has been gathered
concerning suspected illegal activity. Records consist of bulletins and memos
used to distribute information on criminal activity. Records usually contain
descriptions, photos and other items of interest. Examples of records include
gang activity report, criminal activity bulletins, etc.

8011-06 GUN TRACE RECORDS
Series is used to track and discover where weapons used in a criminal act or
in the possession of a minor are coming from. Records include information on how
gun came into city possession, name of suspect, information on the gun, persons
who have had previous possession of weapons, ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and
Firearms) records, manufacturer's information, etc.

8011-07 UNCONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT RECORDS
Series is created to check the background of individuals issued permits to
carry unconcealed weapons. Series is used to issue permits to security guards
and others who may carry weapons. Record includes application by individual,
Portland Police Data System (PPDS) printouts, CCH (National Career Criminal
History) records and other information gathered on individual applying for the
permit.
