Definition:
Assisting customers to legalize significant work that has been done without permit.
Summary of Standards:
The Bureau of Development Services provides assistance to citizens who have property where significant work has been done without permits. This program is called the Get Legal Program.
Policy:
Neighborhood Inspections refers property owners to the Get Legal Team for assistance when in the course of their inspections they find a property that needs to have significant work legalized. If the property owner applies to the program, the Get Legal Team will determine, on a case by case basis, if the property can be accepted into the program.
Neighborhood Inspection has a representative on the Get Legal Team and may send an additional representative to make a presentation to the Get Legal Team regarding a specific property.
Neighborhood Inspections will suspend liens on properties in the Get Legal Program if requested by the Bureau of Development Services.
