DANGEROUS STRUCTURES INTER-BUREAU REFERRALS
Administrative Rule Adopted by Office of Neighborhood Involvement
ARB-ENB-18.02

Definition:
A dangerous structure has conditions or defects to the extent that life, health, property or safety of the public or its occupants are in danger.

Summary of Standards:
Bureau of Development Services, Compliance Services has the responsibility for dangerous structures.

Policy:
Neighborhood Inspections will refer properties to Compliance Services when an inspector finds a structure that fits the dangerous structure definition or if the violations on an existing housing case becomes severe enough to warrant a referral.

There may be two cases on one lot if there are two structures. This only occurs when one structure has been determined to be dangerous and the other only has housing violations. Even though there may be two cases on a property only one case will be billed. The case billed is determined by the supervisors of Neighborhood Inspections and Compliance Services.
