City Code Section 2.04.090 states that Initiative petition signatures are due no later than four months before intended election date. In 2014, petitions will be due on these dates:
Intended for May 20, 2014 Primary Election
1st day to file prospective petition - January 20, 2012
Last day to file signatures - January 17, 2014
Intended for November 4, 2014 General Election
1st day to file prospective petition - July 4, 2012
Last day to file signatures - July 4, 2014
If petitioners fail to submit the required number of valid signatures by the signature deadline, their initiative petition will not be placed on the ballot.
