Tenzin joined the Portland Audit Services Division in 2010, after working in the Oregon Secretary of State's Audits Division, where she attained the rank of Principal Auditor.  While at the State, Tenzin worked on both financial and performance audits but specialized in the latter. Her performance audits included a review of early release practices across the Oregon prison system, business activities within education service districts, statewide use of procurement cards and Common School Fund Forest land management.  While at the City, Tenzin has led performance audits that included Portland Development Commission transaction testing, Citywide debt reserves, Parks maintenance and Portland Streetcar.

 

Prior to her work in government, Tenzin held various positions within the nonprofit sector at organizations of local and national scope. Her master’s project focused on public-nonprofit partnerships to serve the elderly population in Washington County and, while in graduate school, she served as a research assistant on projects dedicated to developing nonprofit leaders of color in Oregon.

 

Tenzin holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Portland State University, and a bachelor's degree in Biology from Whitman College.  

 

She is a member of the Association of Local Government Auditors, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Association of Government Accountants.
