STREET FAIRS, FESTIVALS AND SPECIAL EVENTS

PROCEDURES:
Management Responsibility
1. Fair sponsors shall supply the Fire marshal's Office with the name, address and telephone number of 'the person with overall responsibility for fair operations.
2. Provide set of Street Fair Guidelines to every vendor.
3. To enforce all guideline requirements.
To apply for fireworks permit through the Fire Marshal's Office no later than two (2) months prior to date of scheduled display.
Written permit shall be required from the Fire Marshal's Office for any deviations to these guidelines.
General
1. Streets surrounding festival area shall be kept clear at all times.
2. All festival booths and displays shall be confined to the designated area.
3. All cloth, plastic or paper decorations or displays must be flame proofed.
4. All cooking appliances must be approved and tagged by the Fire Marshal's Office before such appliance shall be allowed" on the fair site.
5. No gasoline-fueled appliances shall be allowed.
6. All permits for cooking appliances shall be secured from the Fire Marshal's Office.
7. Propane appliances and allied equipment shall comply with PFB "Guidelines and Regulations for Propane Cooking Equipment".
8. Charcoal briquette or wood barbecues may be used provided fire is started early in the morning prior to the public being on the designated area. Absolutely no use of flammable liquids for fire setting. Ashes or clinkers from barbecues shall not be dumped on ground or into garbage receptacles.
9. All cooking appliances shall be on a sturdy base, stand or table to preclude their being tipped or knocked over.
10. A fire extinguisher of not less than a 2A-10BC UL rated is required at all locations where cooking is done or flame-producing devices are be* used- Deep fat fryers require a minimum 40 BC size extinguisher.
