Whenever an application for water service is received, the Administrator or
the Chief Engineer shall have authority to reject such application if in the
judgment of the Chief Engineer, the service and meter size applied for is
expected to be less than or greater than the size necessary for estimated use by
the premises of the applicant. In such event, the Administrator or the Chief
Engineer shall specify the appropriate size of service line and size and type of
meter. The service size as determined by the Chief Engineer shall not be a
warranty of sufficiency for pressure or volume of water to be afforded the
premises. No service connection less than 3/4-inch in size shall be installed.
The installation of any required backflow prevention assembly may cause the
pressure and or volume of water to be less than the distribution system is able
to supply through a specific service. It is the responsibility of the applicant
to demonstrate that he or she has calculated the effect of installing required
backflow prevention assemblies.
