Johnson Creek Watershed Wide Event - Printable Version - February 25, 2013 - 2 Comments

This Saturday, March 2 is a watershed-wide volunteer restoration event for Johnson Creek.  Join community members at 12 different sites in the watershed for this opportunity to help improve conditions in the creek, which is home to native salmon, steelhead and other species.   Environmental Services is a partner of the Johnson Creek Watershed Council.  Working together, we're seeing improvements in the creek's water quality, habitat, and flooding.  On March 2, volunteer project sites will support stream restoration by Environmental Services at Crystal Springs, Tideman Johnson Park, Errol Creek and other areas.

I can't wait to go help! Johnson Creek is so special, and the work the Watershed Council does is invaluable to our community and the land it occupies. PLUS I hear there's free pizza for the volunteers after the event. Score!

I always love my time out in the field planting or removing invasive species.  Each new little plant feels like a new friend to me as I put in gently in the ground.  Being a part of Watershed Wide multiplies my joy as I add my efforts to that of many other volunteers.  Please consider coming to join us on the special day.
