The next Fix-It Fair is on Saturday, January 26 from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Self Enhancement, Inc., 3920 N Kerby Ave. Fix-It Fairs are free events where you can find simple and effective ways to save money and stay healthy. Workshops are offered throughout the day, including options to help you make better purchasing decisions. Here are just a few:

• Learn some recipes for healthy and affordable dishes at the Nutrition on a Budget workshop.
• A building or remodeling project may be in your future. The Hiring a Licensed Contractor workshop helps you be informed when you make this important decision.
• The Budget Right to Save Money workshop offers tips like budgeting methods, sticking to a budget, debt reduction, saving money and using credit.
• Discover which plants are best, what size containers to use and where to locate containers for healthy plants during the Container Gardening workshop.

Also, stop by the Be Resourceful information booth to learn about resources for finding local places to get what you need for your home. Share your favorite Portland community resource online or at the booth.
