There are several types of planter boxes:
| 1. Contained Planter |
A contained planter is used for planting trees, shrubs and ground cover to be placed over an impervious surface.
|
| 2. Infiltration Planter |
An infiltration planter is a structural landscaped reservoir used to collect, filter and infiltrate stormwater run-off. This allows pollutants to settle and filter out as the water percolates through the planter soil and infiltrates into the ground. Infiltration planters should be integrated into an overall site plan requiring landscaping.
|
| 3. Flo-Through Planter |
A flo-through planter is a structural landscaped reservoir used to collect, filter and infiltrate stormwater run-off. This allows pollutants to settle and filter out as the water percolates through the planter soil and infiltrates into the ground. Infiltration planters should be integrated into an overall site plan requiring landscaping. Because they include a waterproof lining, flo-through planters are extremely versatile and can be used next to foundation walls, adjacent to property lines (if less than 30" in height) or on slopes.
